Over 1,700 flights planned between Russia and Georgia in summer

There are more than 1,700 flights planned between Russia and Georgia during the summer season from June to October this year, according to Georgia's Civil Aviation Agency.

This is 13% of the overall number of flights to Georgia's airports.

Azimut, Red Wings and Georgian Airways are currently the three airlines that operate flights between Russia and Georgia.

There are 13,600 flights overall planned to operate from Georgia during the summer season, including 2,480 flights to Europe, or 18% of the total.

The frequency of flights between Georgia and the Persian Gulf countries is also increasing, with 2,255 flights planned to this area, or 17% of the total.
